Tiffany Lindsey is an artist based in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Her practice draws from material culture, abstraction, and the feminist art tradition of Femmage, an art form that uses traditional women’s techniques to create fine art. Her recent work centers on compositions combining acrylic paint, collage, repurposed textiles, and other domestic novelties sourced from friends and family.

Working specifically with lace, linen, and doilies, each holding its own history and ancestral connections, Tiffany recontextualizes these materials through her process of layering, juxtaposition, and reuse. In this, revival becomes a conceptual act, breathing new life into objects shaped by histories of domesticity. Her practice examines themes of upbringing, interweaving the ideas of femininity, domestic labor, childhood, and religion. Grounded in Femmage, her work embraces how communal histories become embedded within materials and surfaces.
